PM Modi sets trajectory: 5-8 more semiconductor plants in 7-8 years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced from the Red Fort on 15 August 2026 that three major semiconductor plants are already operational in India, with an additional five to eight plants expected to come online over the next seven to eight years.
