From Design to Production: SAT-SAAW Moves onto the IAF Order Book

The Ministry of Defence signed a Rs 810.79 crore contract on 23 September 2026 with Bharat Dynamics for 160 DRDO-designed SAT-SAAW precision glide bombs for the IAF, under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) category at 60% indigenous content. It converts a DRDO design into a repeatable production order - a harder signal than a demonstrator or an import buy; the residual exposure sits in the remaining 40% and three subsystems still being localised.
