The Engine Is Not the Only Test: Indigenous APUs Move onto India's Tank Fleet

The Ministry of Defence signed a Rs 586 crore Make-II contract on 21 September 2026 with Accurate Industrial Controls for indigenous Auxiliary Power Units on T-72 and T-90 tanks - the alternate onboard power source for the fire-control system, firing circuit and gun stabilisation. It is a subsystem-level indigenisation move, not a platform headline; the test is delivery at fleet scale.
