The Indian Navy’s Autonomous Maritime Transformation 2026–2035
India’s naval autonomous transformation over 2026–2035 is technically feasible and strategically necessary — but its pace will be set less by platform decisions than by the maturation of the underlying industrial substrate. This strategic-intelligence assessment argues that platforms are downstream of ecosystems, and identifies three binding constraints: semiconductor access (marine-grade FPGAs, RF integrated circuits, AI-edge NPUs), test-and-certification throughput (DGQA and CemILAC capacity), and a projected 12,000–18,000-engineer workforce deficit by 2030.
