India-New Zealand FTA Is Ratified - Market Access Is Not a Supply Chain

Signal

India and New Zealand completed ratification of their Free Trade Agreement on 21 September 2026, with entry into force set for 20 October 2026. From that date 100% of India's exports to New Zealand become duty-free, removing peak New Zealand tariffs of up to 10% on textiles, leather, footwear, gems and jewellery, engineering goods and processed foods. Tariff elimination is a market-access event - not, by itself, an industrial-capability one.
