D-Propulse Validates India's First Indigenous Rotating Detonation Engine at TRL-5

IIT Madras-incubated startup D-Propulse has hot-fired India's first indigenous 5 kN air-breathing Rotating Detonation Engine, with an aerospike nozzle, to Technology Readiness Level 5 at DRDO's DRDL in Hyderabad - targeting a flight-ready engine by December 2027 for cruise missiles, target drones and high-speed UAVs.
