Ponneri in Tiruvallur, ~35 km north of Chennai, is master-planned by JICA as an “engineering hub” adjacent to the Chennai, Kattupalli and Ennore ports. It is the least advanced CBIC node — detailed master plan and preliminary engineering done, but no Cabinet trunk-infra approval or construction comparable to Tumakuru and Krishnapatnam, and no tenants yet.
